IMPACT (Integrated Marine Program And Computer Training)
IMPACTis an Upward Bound Math and Science Center, the first in the nation to be led by a science museum. Now in its ninth year, the program provides academic enrichment opportunities to low-income, first generation college-bound students, exposing them to the world of post-secondary study, and inspiring and preparing them to complete high school, enroll in college, and engage in pathways toward science, math and technology careers. Conducted in partnership with University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, IMPACT has achieved national acclaim for its exemplary model and exceptional results, including the prestigious National Award for Museum Service from the Institute of Museum and Library Services in 2001, for Excellence in Youth Programming, and the 2004 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring.
These students upon high school graduation are eager to start their college education and have many needs for all kinds of supplies, and assistance. Any help is greatly appreciated.
